Favourite TV Shows

So I have this obsession with watching lots of TV shows. I end up fangirling and crying a lot over them (not even joking haha), so I wanted to share some of them with you.

Prison Break:

I started watching Prison Break with my brother some time last year and I have to say I was hooked from the first episode. The storyline was so cleverly crafted and the acting was so good that I wouldn’t mind watching the whole thing again and again. It’s about 2 brothers, one is innocent and the other is framed and sent to prison. They both have to try and trust other inmates and try to escape however it’s not as easy as they thought it would be. The message behind it tells the truth about what the government really is and that’s portrayed in such a way that makes you really think and leaves you wanting more. The acting is phenomenal and you can tell a lot of effort was put into making this show a success. I wasn’t particularly fond of the character T-Bag however by the end of it I loved him. He was played by the actor Robert Knepper who has actually persuaded me to like a character and for me that is a very powerful thing to do. The way the main character Michael Scofield was played really inspired me and I just loved how it wasn’t all serious and there was an aspect of humour. I remember one night last summer me and my brother pulled an all-nighter and watched Prison Break till 10am. We were that hooked and we just simply couldn’t stop watching it. I recommend this show to everyone who reads this, you honestly won’t regret it.

Breaking Bad:

Where should I start? This show made me laugh, cry and feel all sorts of emotions that I never thought a show could make me feel. It’s about an old Chemistry teacher who has cancer and decided to form a partnership with an old student of his who cooks crystal meth for a living. The storyline was very good in the sense that it kept you hooked and it never got boring. The message was really moving and you learn a lot about greed and what drugs and money can do to you. The actors who played Walter White and Jesse Pinkman were so funny yet some of their scenes were really inspiring. Some characters were beginning to annoy me I have to say but other than that it’s a great show and is certainly not a waste of time.

One Tree Hill:

I don’t even know how to begin to describe this show. I’m so glad I started watching it because it’s amazing how teenagers of today can relate to these characters. The storylines have never failed to excite me and it definitely kept me on the edge of my seat. It’s based around 2 brothers who have the same dad but different moms. They start the show off hating each other yet by the end of it they become closer than ever. You get to follow these character’s journeys through the struggles of life and you realise that it’s not all bad and you really have to treasure the good memories you have with the people you love. It’s about love, friendship and hope and it has inspired me in many ways.  I have learnt so much and I have fallen in love with the cast. They are all so talented and have a way of really speaking out to me and I’m sure others have felt that too. Sophia Bush who plays Brooke Davis and lots of other cast members have been fantastic and I just wish it didn’t end. It had me crying and laughing at certain points and it just makes me so happy to know that there’s something there that I can turn to when I’m having a bad day. I don’t want to keep rambling on because it feels like I’m writing an essay but I really do encourage you to watch this show as it’s so relatable, quirky and moving.

The Vampire Diaries:

I think I started watching this show last summer so I haven’t been a fan right from when the first episode aired however I really love this show. It’s quite different as it has the supernatural element as it involves vampires, werewolves and witches. It’s about a girl called Elena who falls in love with a vampire called Stefan. His brother Damon soon arrives in town and causes lots of trouble especially between his brother and Elena. It left a cliff hanger at the end of every episode which was really exciting and forced me to keep watching. The acting was excellent especially from Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder. For me I can really relate to Damon’s character and I sympathise with him a lot. It gives you a mixture of drama, romance and thrill which I really like. There are lots of reasons you should watch this show but I don’t want to bore you so I’ll let you find out for yourselves.

Pretty Little Liars:

This show is about 4 girls who thought that their friend Alison had been murdered. This was until they started getting messages from some mysterious person named ‘A’. This starts to scare the girls as the police soon after find Alison’s body. The girls have been tortured, manipulated and lied to and have been forced to do things against their will. This show brings so much excitement and drama and you will want to find out who ’A’ is so badly that it will kill you. It’s so heart wrenching and it teaches you to be careful who you trust. The acting is great and the storylines are very exciting and will get you hooked. There’s romance, heartbreak and lots of scary moments that will make you want more. I have to say it’s more of a show for girls however guys can definitely watch it too. You will really enjoy this show and you will become obsessed on finding out who this mysterious ‘A’ is.

I hope you enjoyed reading these reviews on some of the shows I love and that I’ve persuaded you to check them out yourselves. It felt like I was writing an essay so I hope I haven’t bored you too much. Thanks for reading.

Take A Walk With Me

One of my favourite things to do is put my headphones in and go for long walks. I used to do this pretty much every day last summer and I can’t even begin to describe how refreshing it feels. It’s so great after having a bad day just to step outside and feel the cool breeze against your face and exploring new places. Getting lost was a thing I did a few times and it was just so fun seeing new surroundings and new faces and just trying to find my way back. I know not everyone enjoys walking but it’s so good for you and it’s a feeling that will make you feel so alive. I haven’t been able to go for walks lately since the cold weather and all the work I have been receiving  from school but I’m so excited to get back out there this summer and experience it all again. I also used to go on really long walks at a place called Clent Hills with my brother and auntie and yes it was tiring but the peaceful atmosphere and friendly faces made it worthwhile. It was so nice looking out to the beautiful scenery and getting the chance to see what the countryside is like. We used to do around 10-12 miles however I would like to go there for just a casual stroll and really take in what’s around me.

There are lots of benefits that you get from walking so here are just a few that I thought of:
     1.  Being cooped up inside can be very unhealthy and can make you feel lazy so by going outside you get a breath of fresh air and your body will be able to breathe.
     2. You can lose weight just by going for a walk around your neighbourhood and it will help you to stay fit and healthy.
     3.  You get to really discover the small things that you didn’t notice before about your town and you will appreciate how beautiful nature really is.
     4.  It gives you time to take a step back from your busy hectic life and just think. It allows you to think about where you are right now and about your future which is extremely important as that can open up your mind and really see things clearer.
     5.    Lastly, you can just simply enjoy yourself. Get lost and find new places and go on your own little adventure!

I hope you enjoyed this quick post and I hope I have encouraged you to go out more and enjoy this amazing world around you. Life really is too short to be staying indoors and not going out to see what the world has to offer.

Hugs & kisses,

Favourite Top 5 Songs Right Now

Dark Paradise - Lana Del Rey:

I first heard this song from my brother who was playing it in his room and I instantly fell in love. I’m the kind of person who is fond of dark and sinister things so the meaning of this song really fascinated me. The line from the chorus “every time I close my eyes, it’s like a dark paradise” really speaks out for a lot of teenagers including me. When I heard this I understood it straight away and it’s quite sad as it’s such a tragic emotion to feel. It’s saying every time you go to sleep, it’s dark and can be quite scary yet it’s so tranquil. Like when you’re asleep you don’t feel anything and that for some people is a heavenly sensation. It’s like she’s saying she doesn’t want to commit suicide, but if she died, it wouldn't be the worst thing. Also there’s the line “I wish I was dead” and I found that to be so blatant and straight forward. I feel like it’s easier to just say it out loud because if that’s your opinion on life then what have you got to lose? Whilst those who keep it to themselves have a sense of hope that one day it could get better. It’s such a strong powerful thing to say yet it’s sung so casually. Like there really is no hope and that sadness will overwhelm and consume you until that’s it, you wish you were dead. My interpretation could be completely wrong but there was just something that I really admired about this song.

Something I Need – One Republic:

So my brother is more into the band One Republic and I only know a few of their songs however after I heard Ebony Day do a cover of this song I was obsessed. There’s just something about this song that puts me in such a happy mood and I just want to sing and dance along. I love songs like this because they’re great for playing really loud and cheering you up.

Hold You – Nina Nesbitt ft. Kodaline:

Hold You is by far my all time favourite song by Nina. Her voice just flows and I feel goosebumps every time I hear it. I have heard the reasons behind the song however I saw it in a different way. It’s the waiting that kills you and it’s painful but I feel like she regrets not spending time with a special person when she had the chance. It sounds like she’s angry at herself and just wants to hold that person just for a second; so she can feel whole again. Nina’s album recently came out and every single song has something so original and fresh. For the album she recorded Hold You as a collaboration with Kodaline and I have to say I like the new version slightly better. It certainly gives me chills and I can’t even explain the power and emotion that has come from both Nina and Kodaline.

I See Fire – Ed Sheeran:

I first heard this song in school and I was surprised at the feeling I got from it. It’s quite slow however towards the end it speeds up and you can feel the emotions that Ed is feeling. I’ve always loved Ed Sheeran and his talent of writing songs but this song was exceptional. His voice is one of a kind and I can’t stop listening to it.

Black Keys – Jonas Brothers:

I will admit I don’t listen to the Jonas Brothers but I was extremely bored one day and I saw on Spotify that they were recommended so I decided to check them out. I listened to their album and Black Keys was the one that stood out for me. It was just simply a pleasant song to listen to and like Something I Need by One Republic it puts me in a great mood.

I just wanted to share with you what songs I’m loving at the moment and I hope you have got a few ideas if you’re stuck on what to listen to or you just wanted to know what songs I like and why. Thanks for reading and I shall talk to you all very soon.
