Hanging Your Memories // Room Decoration

Hello guys! So I’ve absolutely loved Tumblr ever since I first made an account and I just love spending hours on end scrolling through all the cool photos that inspire me. When I came across the famous ‘hanging your photos on string’ room decoration idea I was so inspired and super excited to try it out myself.

So the first thing I did was make sure there was somewhere in my room that I could hang the photos. Once I found a suitable place I went on a hunt through my old photos and selected the ones I loved the most and wanted to use. I used photos of friends and family and also celebrities and TV shows that I love too. After doing this I sent them off to a printing website called Truprint and simply waited for them to arrive in the post. I was over the moon when they came a few days later and to see that they did a pretty good job printing them. The only thing that I wasn’t so happy with was that not all of them fit properly in the size that I wanted and they weren’t all very good quality but its okay, I didn’t really mind. Then I just got some string and hung it around my window and then placed all the photos how I wanted to using pegs.

I’m honestly so happy with the way it turned out and I was surprised to see how easy it is to recreate. It really adds a touch of colour and makes your room more personal. I can look up now and see all my great memories in front of me and it’s just a wonderful way to show your photos in a more exciting way rather than just hanging them in boring photo frames. Also mine was placed around my window so it’s the first thing you see when you walk into my room which is really nice. Everyone has loved the idea so far and they all like how unique it is. It’s literally my favourite part of my room; except for my bed of course!

Here’s the website that I used to get the photos printed: http://www.truprint.co.uk/

Thank you for reading guys! I hope you liked this idea and be sure to let me know if you try it out yourself. It costs barely any money and the result looks so pretty. Did you like the idea and how it turned out in my room? As always be sure to give my blog a follow if you like it and also leave your blogs in the comments and I will definitely check them out.

Breakfast at Tiffany’s Film Review

Audrey Hepburn takes on the role of a young girl living in New York by the name of Holly Golightly who finds a struggling writer called Paul Varjak who moves into her apartment building and becomes intrigued by Holly’s fun and quirky personality. Holly's lifestyle confuses and fascinates Paul; which leads them into becoming great friends and soon to be lovers. Lots of twists and turns take place throughout the film introducing various characters such as Doc Golightly, who is Holly’s husband and Mr Yunioshi, who is a very irritable man and also lives in their apartment. This old film is full of romance, friendship and a nameless cat that you later realise is very symbolic to the story. Holly feels quite trapped and is always finding new ways to earn a bit of cash but when she finds Paul and falls in love, her life and mind set changes completely.

So I’ve heard a lot of great reviews and comments on this film and it has been recommended to me on various occasions. I also read in a blog post that it’s one of the top 10 favourite films of all time so I thought I’d check it out and see what all the fuss was about. Bearing in mind I was very tired whilst watching it so that may have an effect on my opinion but to be quite honest I didn’t really like it. It was okay but it wasn’t engaging at all and I just got bored. I felt like the storyline wasn’t very clear and it just wasn’t one that stood out for me.

Despite this I thought that the acting by Audrey Hepburn and George Peppard was extremely good and realistic. The simplicity was very fresh and nice to see as there were no fancy effects that you see nowadays. I understand how the nameless cat is very symbolic and represents Holly and her feelings towards love and humanity but overall I think it’s so overrated and not a film that I will be seeing again any time soon. It definitely wasn’t a waste of time but it wasn’t a memorable film either that I would find myself recommending to others. I didn’t really understand the whole ‘breakfast at Tiffany’s’ thing and where that came into the film. Did she even have breakfast at Tiffany’s? I don’t know but maybe I need to watch it a few more times to fully understand the meaning behind it. I would probably give this film 3 out of 5 stars for overall performance and storyline.

I hope I haven’t put you off going to see this film if you haven’t already because this is just my opinion so I would love for anyone reading this to go and see it and let me know what you think. I know this is a very unpopular opinion but I just don’t see how people can love this film. I’ve probably missed out bits of the film that people think are really significant but I think that’s just because I wasn’t really interested or paying much attention to the details.

Thanks so much for reading! Let me know if you like this film or not; I would love to hear what you think about it. Talk to you in my next post.

My Dating Profile

Hello! I was watching Cherry Wallis’ video tag that was called My Dating Profile and I thought I’d give it a go but in a blog post. I wasn’t tagged to do it but I really wanted to anyway so I hope you like it.

Do you believe in love at first sight?
Yes I do believe in love at first sight despite the fact that I haven’t experienced it yet I still love that kind of stuff. I’m quite cynical if I’m honest so I find it really hard to trust people let alone love them so people assume I don’t believe in love as much but I’m actually a hopeless romantic and I love all that cheesy stuff, it’s only because I haven’t really had that feeling of love at first sight yet.

What do you do for fun?
I’m a really boring person to be honest because I rarely do anything exciting with my life unless there’s a special occasion or something. However I do have my hobbies that I really enjoy like reading books, my blog and writing creative short pieces for fun. I also write for a magazine, go on frequent walks and watch a tonne of TV shows like One Tree Hill and Pretty Little Liars. I’m just the average teenager really.

Do you want/do you have any children?
I don’t have any children at the moment since I’m so young aha but perhaps in the future? I don’t really know to be honest because growing up with little siblings has slightly put me off… (aha I’m joking.) Well it’s not all up to me as it will be my husband’s decision to consider as well but yeah I probably will; I just haven’t given much thought to it. I am also considering adopting a child but I’m not too sure yet. If I do have my own children then I would like one or two and I’m not fussy about the gender, whatever God gives me I’ll be over the moon with.

What are you looking for in a relationship?
I would like the guy to be honest, simple and modest. I prefer confidence over cockiness and I would like them to feel like they can talk to me about anything. I would like someone who’s outgoing, ambitious and intelligent and someone who is very sweet and kind of likes the whole ‘kissing in the rain’ cheesy stuff. He has to be down to earth and have manners and respect too. Just someone who is my best friend and is willing to stay up with me till 2am talking about anything and everything.

What is the one thing about yourself that you would like me to know?
One thing I would like you to know would be how much I love my privacy. It’s not that I’m mad or upset; I just love taking a step back from my life and just thinking things over by myself. I usually do this by going for a long walk as they’re so refreshing or just listening to music so if I’m being quiet I just need to take time out to think. I love being by myself and to just have a break from everyone occasionally.

If you won a lottery how would you spend your millions?
I think the first thing I would do is make my family’s lives a whole lot better by treating them and giving them the best things possible because they honestly deserve it. Then I would use the rest of the money to travel to different places in the world and use my wealth to help people who are suffering. I would like to go out there and do it myself because I don’t trust these organisations at all because I feel half the money isn’t even going to where they promised it would.

Who was the first crush you ever had?
Okay so I was 11/12 years old and I had just started high school so I was pretty new to everything including boys. I met this boy called Elliott in science club (don’t judge me) and we walked home together after every session. It wasn’t really his looks it was more about his personality; he was really sweet and such a gentleman. It never really went anywhere, I think he had a feeling I liked him but he never said anything and neither did I. I still talk to him now so we are friends but I don’t see him in that way anymore.

You have got six months to live, what will you do first?
I would tell the people I love how much they mean to me and probably eat all the food that I can buy because lets be honest who’s gonna care about your weight if you’re going to die aha. The last thing I’d want to do is leave my diary in a place where someone will find it and I know it’s not important because I’m no one special but it’s important to me and if someone can learn something from it then I would die happy.

Are you a morning person or a night person?
I would say I’m a bit of both because some days I love staying up late just talking to my family and watching films and TV shows but I also love waking up really early in the morning because I love how still the world is and I feel like the day is going to be more productive. So yeah I would say I’m a bit of both depending on how I feel that day.

If you have friends coming over, what would you cook?
Well I’m not the best cook in the world and I never really needed to cook since my mom does all the cooking so I think I’d probably order pizza or as a little treat I’d bake them some cupcakes or cookies. I know that’s not cooking but I’m sure they would appreciate it aha. If they really wanted a home cooked meal I’d make them spaghetti bolognaise since that’s my favourite meal of all time.

If you could travel back through time, what single mistake would you correct in life?
I’m the kind of person who believes in ‘everything happens for a reason’ so I honestly don’t regret anything because I know that’s the way it was supposed to happen and that something good will always come out of it. The only thing is that I wish that I would have realised sooner that other people’s opinions don’t mean a thing and that I should do more of what makes me happy rather than following the crowd. Also I would’ve made sure that the people who cared about me got more recognition rather than the people who didn’t make me a better person and constantly put me down.

Where do you see yourself in five years time?
In five years time I will be 21 which is a very scary thought but I would like to think I’ll be in university or coming out depending on what I’m doing. I want to be able to drive and have a really good circle of true friends that I can actually trust and travel to various places with. My dream job is to be a journalist or a writer but I know everyone has to start off small so I would like a job associated with that field and even if it’s not exactly ‘my dream job’ it’s a start and hopefully a few more years down the line I would be in a job that I love. I would also like a partner who I’m comfortable with and I can see a future with and lastly I would like to be happy. Wherever I am and whatever I’m doing I just want to be content and feel like I’ve lived my life to the fullest so far.

Thanks so much for reading! I didn’t realise it would be this long but I really hope you enjoyed reading it as much as I loved writing it. I’m tagging all of you reading this to give it a go. Talk to you all very soon!

My Top 3 Healthy Snacks & Drinks

Hi everyone! So recently I’ve had this burst of motivation to start eating more healthily and to start exercising on a regular basis. I just want to say that this isn’t a strict diet as such; it’s more like a change in lifestyle. My personal goal is to become healthier by the time I start college and I’m so determined to do it.

So far I’ve managed to cut out five things in my diet; chocolate, biscuits, fizzy drinks, takeaways and crisps. I’ve managed to do it for the past two weeks which I’m so proud of and I just really hope I can maintain it. For some reason I’ve been craving these sugary things much less and I don’t even feel like I need to eat them. I’ve cut down on the size of my proportions and I’ve realised all the food I used to eat wasn’t really needed. I only ate them because I just simply love food aha.

I’ve also been going on my walks more frequently which I’ve been loving and hopefully I’m going to start going swimming once a week since that’s one sport that I really love. So I just wanted to share the top three things that I’ve been eating and drinking lately and all the benefits that they give to our bodies.

Nuts:
I’ve always loved nuts but I’ve never really been crazy about them until recently. I’ve been snacking on them instead of things like crisps which I used to eat so much. You know when you just want to munch on something but you don’t want to be unhealthy? Well nuts are the way to go. Lately I’ve been completely obsessed with cashew nuts and almonds as they taste really natural yet sweet at the same time and there’s just something about them that after you have a few you kind of have to finish the whole packet.

Some of the benefits to various nuts are:
1. Almonds are full of calcium and are rich in vitamin E which helps improve the condition and appearance of your skin.
2. Cashew nuts provide a good level of protein and help to improve your memory.
3. Chestnuts have the least amount of fat and calories and provide a good source of vitamin C in their raw form.
4. Pecans are great for lowering cholesterol levels and the vitamins they contain help us access the energy in food to fight off fatigue and laziness.
5. Walnuts are effective for fighting cancer and they’re rich in omega-3 so they’re a great alternative if you don’t like eating oily fish.

Green tea:
I’ve loved green tea so much ever since I first tasted it. I’ve tried to get other people into it but describing its taste is so difficult so it’s hard to convince people how great it is. I normally have it with just a little bit of sugar since it’s quite bitter and that usually does the trick. I was actually so upset last year when I had to give up green tea since it started to make me feel really ill and it came to the point where I couldn’t move because of how bad it got. So I haven’t been able to drink it for months which was awful but I’ve started to drink it again and it’s been okay so far so hopefully I won’t go ill again. The benefits to green tea are endless so I highly recommend you try it.

Some of the many benefits to green tea:
1. I’m sure you’ve all heard this one before but green tea helps increase your metabolism so it helps with weight loss.
2. It also helps prevent diabetes or to keep it in good control if you are diabetic as it helps regulate glucose levels slowing the rise of blood sugar after eating.
3. It helps prevent heart disease as it protects your heart from clots which are the primary cause of heart attacks.
4. One benefit you may not know is that it helps with depression. Theanine is an amino acid naturally found in tea leaves. It’s this substance that is thought to provide a relaxing and tranquilizing effect to someone who suffers with depression.
5. Green tea can also help with wrinkles and the signs of aging.

Apples:
So we all know that fruit is really good for you but when your parents always used to say “an apple a day keeps the doctor away” we never believed them. Well we should have. I had no clue how beneficial they actually are. I’ve been eating around 3 or 4 apples a day because they’re so sweet and delicious that I just can’t stop. I definitely prefer red apples but the green ones are really good for you too. Any kind of fruit is healthy for you so if you don’t like apples then you can eat any other fruit you like. If you ever feel hungry, instead of picking up a chocolate bar go straight to the fruit bowl. I promise you’ll feel so much better and your body will thank you for it.

Some benefits to eating apples:
1. An apple won’t replace your toothbrush, but biting and chewing an apple stimulates the production of saliva in your mouth, reducing tooth decay by lowering the levels of bacteria.
2. According to a Brazilian study, eating an apple before a meal helped women lose 33 percent more weight than those who didn't.
3. Apples also benefit your appearance, since they contain nutrients that nourish your skin.
4. Apples provide a source of potassium which may promote heart health.
5. Studies indicate that eating apples daily can reduce the chance of you getting a skin disease.

Thanks so much for reading! By the way, all the benefits that I gave were all from the internet, I haven’t done any research into them myself aha. Please leave your blogs or any blogs that you recommend me to read in the comments as I would love to read them. What are some of your favourite healthy snacks or drinks?

Hugs & kisses,

Ed Sheeran // Brand New Single

I don’t know about you but I remember the first time I ever listened to Ed’s beautiful voice and I remember literally falling in love. It’s so different and has something to it that no other artist has ever had. He really does deserve all the praise and all of the support from his dedicated fans. If you haven’t heard anything from him then I recommend his album ‘+’ as it’s perfect and you can tell a lot of effort has gone into the making of it. A few of my favourite songs from him are Autumn Leaves, This and You Need Me I Don’t Need You.

I can tell he’s a hard worker since he has gone into hiding for the past year or so to work on a second album. Whilst waiting for that he has brought out his brand new single called ‘Sing’! We managed to get a sneak preview of the acoustic version last Saturday 5th April and then finally got to hear the whole thing on the radio on Monday 7th April. This is all very exciting since we’ve been waiting so long. It’s a huge day for Ed’s fans like me.

The single itself is very different and has taken a whole new twist compared to Ed’s normal stripped back acoustic sound. It was very risky but despite this I’m over the moon that he went with this song. I can guarantee the majority of people will love it judging by the comments and feedback already. A number one single is definitely on its way. Ed also raps in the song which is so amazing! His rapping is literally out of this world and it has already been stuck in my head all weekend. Seeing Ed release his music and being so happy about it makes me so proud and I really hope he achieves the goals he has set for himself because he is one of those artists who really deserve it. He seems so kind, genuine and down to earth which is difficult to find in the artists that are out right now. Congratulations Ed for a fantastic single!

After hearing the single I am buzzing to hear the album. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for Ed because I know for a fact he’s going to be doing great things.

You can follow Ed on these social media sites:-

Here’s the link to his new single! Check it out if you like: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=scHS8YaYoRA

Thanks for reading guys! I really recommend you check out his new single and also his ‘+’ album and his EP’s if you haven’t already. If you do check it out let me know if you like it or not.

Notebook Collection

Hello! So I have this obsession with buying really cute notebooks. I don’t know what it is but there’s just something nice about getting a new notebook even if I don’t use it. I’ve only got this urge to buy notebooks recently so my collection is yet to expand however I wanted to show you the ones I’ve got that I really like and where I got them from.

The first one is from Sainsbury’s and I remember seeing it and literally falling in love! It’s a pretty grey colour with a beautiful flower design. I love the colours and the simplicity of it. I use this one to write down all my thoughts and anything that I want to get off my chest so I keep this one as my own personal diary.

The second one I wanted to show you is from Toys R Us and it’s the cutest notebook ever. It’s a Despicable Me one that has the eye of a minion on the cover. Its bright yellow and even the paper inside has a little minion printed in the corner. As soon as I saw it I knew I had to get it. This one was a little overpriced for a notebook but oh well.

The last one is from the shop Homesense. I thought they only sold furniture and accessories for your home however when I found a whole aisle dedicated to notebooks I was in heaven; especially since they were at such good prices. I quickly spotted this really sweet brown one with flowers down the side. It has a checklist type thing on it which I thought was really cute. The best part however was the actual paper as it has a really cool clipboard design which I thought was so pretty! I absolutely adore this notebook so I’m really glad I bought it.

Thanks for reading guys! Which notebook is your favourite?

My Favourite Jumpers

Hey guys, hope your having a great day! So I have this huge obsession with buying jumpers, whether its summer or winter, I just love them. They’re great because they’re so warm and comfy and at the same time you can wear them with pretty much anything. I got these jumpers quite a long time ago so I can’t remember the prices but I do remember where I got them from. I literally have to buy one every single time I go shopping so I thought I’d share my top 5 jumpers with you.

Jumper #1
The first jumper I wanted to show you is this really pretty green one that’s just plain and long sleeved. What I love about it is that it’s really thick so it’s perfect for the winter. The colour was also something that attracted me to it. I’ve been wearing it quite a lot especially with plain denim skinny jeans or even a plain black skater skirt. I bought this jumper from Primark.

Jumper #2
The second jumper is a really pretty cream colour with a pink heart on it. I really like this one because it’s the perfect size and super comfy. I tend to wear it with jeans or shorts or a black skater skirt to make it look more cute and girly. I bought this one from a shop called Internacionale.

Jumper #3
Okay I love this jumper so much! It’s just plain black with the Batman logo on it. I really like the yellow in the logo as it gives it a nice pop of colour since the rest is just black. This one is so warm and so cool at the same time. I have received so many compliments whenever I wear it. I love wearing it with denim shorts. This one is from Zoo.

Jumper #4
So this one has much bigger holes and is more slouchy than the other ones so I have to wear a white vest top underneath. This one is the most comfy piece of clothing, it honestly feels like I’ve got nothing on and what I really love is the combination of blue and white as it makes it look so pretty. It’s not as warm but I really love wearing it with jeans or shorts. I got this one from Primark.

Jumper #5
This one is a pretty baby pink colour and its holes are quite big so again I have to wear a top underneath. I love wearing this one with skinny jeans and I just adore the colour as it’s a sweet shade of pink and it’s not a bright eyesore as some pink shades can be. And finally I bought this one from Zoo.

Thanks so much for reading guys! Let me know in the comments which one is your favourite. As always please share my blog around with your friends and family; I would be really grateful. Also it would be great if you could leave your blogs in the comments and I will be sure to check them out.

Hugs & kisses,

Goodbye March, Hello April

How is it April already? We’re already 3 months in and exam stress is heating up, yet tonnes of cool and exciting things have happened already this year. There are so many amazing events and things to look forward to so I wanted to share them with you.

So to start off with I am proud to say that I have kept my resolution so far of taking lots of more photos than last year so I have all these great memories to look back on and show other people. I didn’t know if I’d be able to do it but I’m so glad I gave it a go. Another thing is that I started writing for a magazine in February which is a huge dream of mine. I’m so grateful for having this opportunity and it has taken me to places like The Star Awards and allowed me to publish my own short story! Can’t believe how lucky I am to have all this going on especially since I’m so young. Another thing I’m grateful for is the chance to start my very own blog and write about the things I love and that I’m passionate about. I know it’s only small at the moment and no one really reads it but that doesn’t matter because it allows me to write and writing makes me happy. It’s what I want to do as a career so it’s so much fun and I’m happiest when I can just write about anything and everything. So if you do read my blog then I want to tell you that I’m so grateful and it honestly means a lot to me.
Okay so moving on with the things I’m looking forward to in April and the upcoming months. Firstly, I’m buzzing for this summer especially since I’m getting a longer one as I’ll be finishing my exams. I will definitely be celebrating the day I have my last exam (13th June.) So I’m really looking forward to just relaxing and getting a good long break from all the stress and hard work. There’s another thing that has come about through working for a magazine. I don’t want to share it just yet as it may not happen however it’s happening very soon and it’s out of this world. I never thought I’d be doing things like this at my age to be honest. If it does happen it will be in the Easter holidays and the 3rd May so keep your eyes out as I will be writing about it if it does happen. Lastly, I have college to look forward to. I know it’s quite a while away and I will find it difficult but I’m just so excited to get out of high school and start the next chapter of my life.

This is all very thrilling and it just makes me so happy to know that I’m going somewhere and there’s some sort of direction to my life. Even if things don’t go to plan, I will find my way out and create something great out of it. I can’t wait to try even crazier experiences, achieving lots of personal goals and making wonderful friends who will support me along the way!

Thanks for reading guys! Let me know what you are looking forward to in the upcoming months. Please spread my blog around with your friends and family; I will be extremely grateful. Talk to you all in my next post.

Hugs & kisses,
Nabeela x
